Arena Match is a game mode in Dragon Ball FighterZ. It can be played by talking to the clerk located to the right of the sign in front of the large fighting ring in the middle of the lobby.

Arena Match Rules[]

  • Standard: Normal tournament rules apply. Thought the rules aren't special, you still might make some new discoveries about battles. And, hey, you can use all the characters!
  • Flashy Fight: Players can use Super Attack and Vanish as much as they want. You'll always have at least one bar of Ki, so go wild!
  • Sharpened Senses: Player health and Ki gauges are invisible. It's going to require some keen senses to figure out how much damage you're dishing out and taking!
  • One-Hit Hero: Players start matches with low health and three bars of Ki. All it takes is one clean hit and it's all over! Use that Ki wisely!
  • Clash of the Combos: Combos do extra damage. The longer the combo, the greater the damage! The only downside is that damage from all attacks can be recovered!
  • Putting on the Pressure: Using Sparking Blast with the last fighter will give an extra dose of power. Don't give up hope! You can still make the comeback of a lifetime!
  • New Ultimate Battle: Ki charges faster, special moves do more damage, fighters have more jumps available, etc. Turn up the heat with some extra intense, action-packed battle!
  • Know Your Role: The first fighter charges Ki more quickly, the second does more damage, and the third automatically recovers health. The order of your figures has never been more important!
  • Wounded Warrior: All figures start each match with half health. A simple combo or one good Meteor Attack could knock a fighter out of the fight in an instant, so be on your guard!
  • Can't Touch This: Z Reflect can be used at any time while guarding. Successful Z Reflects will net you 1 bar of Ki, but you can't move away from your opponent!
  • Pressed for Power: Fighters start with a given amount of Ki and cannot charge any more. Time Ki-draining attacks carefully to take down your opponent!
  • Flashy Finish: Fighters can only be taken out with Super Attacks. Make sure to charge your Ki and finish off your opponent in style!
  • Shenron Showdown: Fighters start each match off with all seven Dragon Balls. All that's left to do is fill your Ki gauge and summon Shenron before your opponent does!
  • Perpetual Power: There is no longer a time limit on Sparking Blast. Dial matches up to 11 with beefed up fighters and ultra powerful attacks!
  • 1-on-1: Z Changes and Z Assists can't be used. you're on your own for this one! Choosing fighters that fare well by themselves is the key to victory!
  • Battle of the Bots: Only CPU fighters you choose can participate. the first fighter automatically recovers health, the second does more damage, and the third prevents health from being recovered!
  • Cornered Comebacks: The lower your health, the stronger you are! Let the opponent beat you down, then thrash 'em with your newfound power. Just finish 'em off before they finish YOU!
  • Lead Character Throwdown: You can only use your main character to battle, meaning your teammates can only use Z Assists! If your main character is defeated, you lose!
  • Z Assist Zealot: Hold back or down (or forward) when using a Z Assist to perform a different type of assist! This is your chance to master all three types!
  • Keep it Simple: You won't have access to Super Dashes, Z Combos, Vanishes, or mid-air dashes. You'll still have powered-up Special Moves, which won't consume Ki, but they will have a cooldown period!
  • Down to the Wire: You're fighting your opponent AND the clock with this rule! Time's so short that you can't actually KO your opponent, so try to finish the match with more health to emerge victoriously.
  • Body Change Brawl: You fight using your opponent's team and they fight using yours. Put each other to the ultimate test and see how well you can cope!
  • Me, Myself, and I: You're fighting with three of the same character on your team. If you want to see how well you can play with one particular character, then this is the rule for you!
  • Luck of the Draw: Two of the characters you choose will be changed to random other characters. This rule will test how well you know the game's roster!
