Terms:[]
Directional Inputs[]
Directional Inputs are often stated in terms of numbers, each corresponding to a different direction.
1: Down and Back (While facing right)
2: Down
3: Down and Forward (While facing right)
4: Back (While facing right)
5: Standing / Neutral
6: Forward (While facing right)
7: Up and Back (While facing right)
8: Up
9: Up and forward (While facing right)
For instance, stating "214" means an input of down, down back, and back, or quarter-circle back.
Hit Confirm[]
Hit confirming simply means realizing that an attack has connected and acting off it. For instance, say that a vanish confirm is possible means that after seeing that an attack is landed, a vanish can be performed after it. An attack with longer hit-stun has better hit confirm.
Delay Tech[]
Delay Tech means to delay the duration of a wake-up. This can be used to avoid certain setups commonly used by opponents.
DHC[]
DHC stands for Delayed-Hyper-Combo. It is used to describe the action of an Ultimate Z-Change, or switching characters during a super move.
Block String[]
A block string is a series of attacks that when blocked can not be mashed through. If a block string is "true" then an opponent will be unable to stop blocking after blocking the first attack until the string has ended. A good block string gives the user a frame advantage after ending.
Bar[]
Bar simply refers to the ki meter. Burning bar means to spend ki meter.
Oki[]
Oki refers to wake up pressure, or the actions taken against the opponent as they are recovering from a knock down.
Touch Of Death (T.O.D.)[]
A Touch Of Death refers to a combo that can knock out an opponent with full health. Since a true combo can not be escaped, if the first attack connects, it means death. Hence the name.
Placement Terms:[]
Point[]
The point character is the first character on a team.
Mid[]
The mid is the second character on a team.
Anchor[]
The anchor is the third and last character on a team.
