Goku (孫悟空, Son Gokū) is the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball franchise, with this version representing his early appearance from the Saiyan Saga up to Ginyu Force Arc of Planet Namek Saga. Goku is a playable character in Dragon Ball FighterZ, being the fifth DLC fighter of FighterZ Pass and was released on August 8th, 2018 alongside Vegeta. He can be purchased for 4.99$ or by buying the FighterZ Pass.

Overview

Goku is a powerful Anchor, In the hands of a skilled player, Goku can still get the job more than done thanks to his versatility and damage output. Through universal movement and a variety of moves for any situation, he can hold his own in neutral against anyone. His command grab helps him crack open patient opponents or condition them into hanging themselves, while his advanced combo routes help him chew out characters even without spending any meter when he lands the hit. His Spirit Bomb is one of the best all-purpose special moves in the game. Most interestingly, his Kaioken super gets stronger with each of his allies that are downed, enhancing his value as a support character and making him one of the best comeback machines in the game.... and lastly, his A assist is extremely good and solidifies Goku an excellent addition to your team. Ultimately, Goku is easy to learn and hard to master, with a diverse toolkit that needs some labbing to put to its max efficiency.

Biography

Even before becoming a Super Saiyan, Goku was a martial artist of incredible skill and renown. His skills only grew stronger after knocked out down at the ground of from his villainous Saiyan brother Raditz and Piccolo, when he trained under King Kai, and learned a variety of new skills, including the strength-enhancing Kaioken technique and the devastating Spirit Bomb.

Special Moves

• Heavy Elbow: Will thrust his body with his elbow out at the opponent.
• Back Throw: Grabs the opponent and throws them backwards.
• Kamehameha: Fires a Kamehameha. This is his C Assist.
• Everyone, lend me your energy!: Charges the handheld Spirit Bomb. This move has three levels. This is his B Assist.
• Spirit Bomb: Fires the handheld Spirit Bomb.
• Drop Down Shot: Drops downwards on the opponent.

Super Attacks

• Kaioken: Activates the Kaioken technique and attacks the enemy. The attacks depend on which button is pressed. The amount of follow ups possible changes depending on how much allies remain. Requires one ki gauge.
• Kaioken Finisher: Teleports to the enemy and kicks them, he then proceeds to smashed them downwards to the ground. If the opponent is KO'ed Goku will hold the enemy like he did Nappa in the Saiyan Saga.
• x3 Kaioken Kamehameha: Teleports to the ground and fires a Kamehameha diagonally. Can only be preformed when one ally remains. Requires one ki gauge.
• x20 Kaioken Kamehameha: Teleports a short range from the opponent and fires a Kamehameha. Can only be preformed when only Goku is alive on the team. Requires one ki gauge.
• Super Spirit Bomb: Teleports to the air and charges a large Spirit Bomb and proceeds to fire it. Requires three ki gauges.
