Jiren (ジレン, Jiren), also known as Jiren the Gray (灰色のジレン, Haīro no Jiren) is a playable character in Dragon Ball FighterZ. He was officially revealed alongside Videl on January 27th, 2019 during the finals of the Dragon Ball World Tour as the first downloadable character for the FighterZ Pass 2, and was released as the ninth downloadable fighter on January 31st, 2019.
Biography[]
Jiren is a warrior from Universe 11, being a member of the elite force known as the Pride Troopers. He was one of the ten warriors from Universe 11 that entered in the Tournament of Power. Jiren is quite possibly the strongest mortal being in his universe, with his power even surpassing its God of Destruction, Vermoud. Through a long, drawn out struggle against Goku in his newly acquired Ultra Instinct, Jiren was knocked out of the arena with the combined might of Goku, Frieza, and Android 17, making Universe 7 the winner of the tournament.
Gameplay Synopsis[]
In Dragon Ball Super, Jiren is shown as a metaphorical and literal wall, seemingly indestructible. Throughout his screentime, he is shown to be immensely more powerful than any fighter previously seen in the entire franchise. Furthermore, he is shown to have a quite defensive fighting style, which is reflected in game. Jiren has a number of counter moves for any situation, as well as an armored charge move and multiple ranged checks. Anybody wanting to play an unbreakable fortress of a character, consider picking up Jiren.
