“Well? Pretty cool for an old man, huh?” |
—Master Roshi's battle introduction quote. |
Master Roshi (亀仙人, Kamesennin) is a playable character in Dragon Ball FighterZ. He was revealed on August 16, 2020 as the third DLC fighter from FighterZ Pass 3 and was released in September 18, 2020. He can be purchased for 4.99$ or by buying the FighterZ Pass 3.
Biography[]
One of Earth's oldest and most renowned masters of the martial arts: Master Roshi, the Turtle Hermit, pioneered the Kamehameha Wave and trained countless fighters over the years, including Goku and many of his friends. Even though he is well past his prime and his perverse mannerisms can be off-putting, he is not just a doddering old man to be underestimated: when push comes to shove and Earth is in danger, he is more than capable of holding his own!

Trivia[]
- The first head to head fighting game in which Master Roshi appeared playable before FighterZ was the PlayStation 1’s Ultimate Battle 22.
- He’s the only character in the game who isn't able to fly.
- Like how Ultimate Battle 22 has Master Roshi lack flight ability as Mr. Hercule Satan, he lacks a universal ability in FighterZ: Super Dash. Instead, he uses a transportation-based Kamehameha as a replacement for Air Super Dash, while very fast leap as a replace for ground Super Dash.
- He is the second of two fighters (or by extend, two human fighters) in the game to lack certain universal abilities, the first one being Videl (Dodge replaces Z-Reflect).
- Master Roshi is tied with Goku (Ultra Instinct) for the highest amount of special moves in the game.
- Due to FighterZ originally planned to have flight combat in one of its gameplay, yet debunked, and remain in traditional fighting game approach, this allows Master Roshi’s playable inclusion to be in this game.
- Master Roshi lose's his glasses when he takes to much damage.
