Practice is a game mode in Dragon Ball FighterZ that allows players to practice combos against a training dummy, learn more about a specific character's play style, or generally learn about the game's fighting style. It can be accessed by talking to the clerk standing at the bottom of the staircase located in the lower left portion of the Lobby.

Information[]

This mode is layed out into three different categories:

Training: This mode allows players to fight against an AI practice dummy with no time limit. By default, the enemy is set to as a practice dummy with no action whatsoever. However, there are the options of turning on turning the AI into a combative CPU, with the option of increasing or decreasing their battle level, letting them be controlled by another human player, or having the AI preform basic tasks such as crouching, blocking, jumping and so on.

Additionally, players can take control of the AI and record their button presses. This can then be played back to execute each button press precisely, which can be used to practice setting up resets, blocking or countering certain character pressure or recording a video of a combo.

In-game resources such as Health, Ki Gauges, and the total amount of Sparking Blasts can also be adjusted along with adjusting characters-specific traits, such as the time limit of Frieza's Golden Frieza form or the absorbed abilities of Android 21's Connoisseur Cut can.

Battle Tutorial: This mode introduces unfamiliar players to Dragon Ball FighterZ's unique style of fighting. While it's possible to defeat the enemy before finishing the lesson, the lessen itself will not be cleared until all specific objective have been achieved.

Combo Challenge: This mode gives player ten specific set of instructions to perform toward a character's moves and combos. Each character starts off by performing basic inputs all the way up to performing combos that require precise inputs and timing. Every character contains 10 combos that can be done in any order the player chooses. The last few challenges are semi-reasonable combos suggested by the developers. However, these combos are almost always extremely inefficient compared to what competent players actually will use.
